As far back as I can remember, I’ve had stories running through my head. At first, it was make-believe; a way to entertain myself and play. As I got older, my muse became a bit more demanding… Luckily for me, the love of my life said, “Hey, if that’s what you want to do, just do it.” So here I am – doing it. 🙂
The Malsum Pass series is based in a fictional town in Vermont (in my head it’s somewhere between Goshen and Rochester). Vermont’s first people were the Abenaki and malsum means wolf in their native tongue. I wanted to imply that the town predated the European settlements.
I first got the idea for Malsum Pass after reading a paranormal romance novel involving werewolves. The book was excellent, don’t get me wrong, but the heroine was a descendant of a werewolf and I kept hoping for her to show some sign of her heritage and she didn’t… so an idea started to form… And here we are.
If you want to check out some visuals that have inspired some of the characters and places in my stories, check out my boards on Pinterest (they’re titled by each book as well as my work in progress).
When I’m not writing and being “Mom”, I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors include Johanna Lindsey, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Penny Reid, Nalini Singh, and Laurann Dohner (just to name a few). I can only hope to be even half as great as these fabulous ladies someday.
I’m a big fan of happily ever after stories (obviously), and love a rom-com or period piece, but I love a fast-paced action/adventure movie as well – and let’s not forget a good paranormal flick. I’m also a bit of a geek. I love superhero movies and television shows, Sci-Fi, and anything involving time travel… So yes, I will totally geek out over Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and anything in the Marvel or DC Universes.
Have questions about my work? Send me a message… I’ll get back to you when I emerge from the writing cave!
Happy Reading 🙂
